Bhaktapur Association Of Cottage & Small Industries
Established in 1990 A.D. as District branch of then Bhaktapur Association Of Cottage & Small Industries (BACSI) now fully independent non-government public body strive for promoting professional interest of Bhaktapur Association Of Cottage & Small Industries (BACSI) .Since its very inception ,BACSI has equally been in the forefront in enhancing entrepreneurship among women, especially those from the backward section of the society. The Micro –Credit Projects for Women( MCPW) and Member’s Cooperative, two of Bhaktapur Association Of Cottage & Small Industries (BACSI) ,s recent projects are directed toward achieving those very goals, Bhaktapur Association Of Cottage & Small Industries (BACSI)

OBJECTIVES
The Association’s major objectives are to:
– Protect and promote professional interest of its member establishment.
– Liaise between its member and various concerned governmental and non- governmental organizations.
– Help members enhance their professional skills through various training, workshops, Seminars and the like.
– Explore and arrange markets for its member’s enterprise though buyers and sellers meetings, electronic and print media including internet and publications, trade fairs and so on.
– Enhance the empowerment of Women through Entrepreneurship among them.
– Provide free counseling for establishing new enterprises.
ACTIVITIES
In line with the principles enshrined in its constitution,
Bhaktapur Association Of Cottage & Small Industries (BACSI) conducts various types of Trainings, Seminars, Workshops and similar others activities in the interest of its members establishments and other individuals wishing to set up their own enterprises. It has time and again conducted trainings on topics like productivity, salesmanship, financial management, book-keeping and marketing management and seminars and workshop on various relevant subjects.
The Association also works as a bridge between its members and their target groups. In this connections, its helps members explore and expand markets for their products through various means including buyers and sellers meeting, internet , publications, trade fairs and the likes.
The Micro-Credit Projects for Women(MCPW) and the members Cooperative are the association’s two latest major projects.

Micro-Credit Projects for Women (MCPW)
The Micro-Credit Projects for Women(MCPW) is one of the association’s major undertaking .Its was started in October 1997 in collaboration with the Micro-Credit Projects for Women(MCPW-N),as Asian Development Bank (ADB) funded project, which is currently under Ministry Of Women and Children’s Welfare of His Majesty’s Government(HMG) of Nepal. The project aims to empower socially and economically underprivileged women social and economic activities. Its as of May 2000,has given direct benefits to over 200 families in Bhakatpur’s Sirutar Village Development Committee (Sirutar VDC) and ward number 6,7,10 and 17 of Bhaktapur Municipality .

The member’s cooperative is the lasts undertaking of Bhaktapur Association Of Cottage & Small Industries (BACSI).Its aims to enhance professionalism among entrepreneurs through mutual cooperation .Moreover, the cooperative provides limited baking services to them. Under the supervision of concerned authorities, its accepts deposits and provide loans to its members. It was established in May 2000.
